This means building\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2021-06-10-gartner-says-the-majority-of-technology-products-and-services-will-be-built-by-professionals-outside-of-it-by-2024\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">technologies and services<\/a>\u00a0that don\u2019t yet exist, and further differentiating their organization in an already crowded market.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As many companies still suffer revenue declines, IT spending is accelerating ahead of revenue expectations. Boards and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2021-05-11-gartner-survey-reveals-most-ceos-anticipate-an-economic-boom-rather-than-stagnation-over-the-next-two-years\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CEOs<\/a>\u00a0are much more willing to invest in technology that has a clear tie to business outcomes, and less so for everything else. For example, the IT services segment is among the top three highest growth areas for 2021 primarily due to a boost in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.gartner.com\/en\/newsroom\/press-releases\/2021-06-28-gartner-says-worldwide-iaas-public-cloud-services-market-grew-40-7-percent-in-2020\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">infrastructure-as-a-service<\/a>\u00a0spending\u00a0that supports mission critical workloads and avoids high on-premises costs. The IT services segment is forecast to total $1.2 trillion in 2021, an increase of 9.8% from 2020 (see Table1).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Table 1.
